Covering 2,000 hectares and home to around 140 wineries, the Central Otago wine region began its journey at Monte Christo. Féraud’s original winery has been meticulously restored, standing as a rare testament to New Zealand’s 19th-century agricultural history.
Today this heritage building serves as our cellar door, where our guests are invited to taste Monte Christo wines in wonderfully authentic, historical surroundings.

Reserve our private tasting room and enjoy an intimate, educational wine experience.
Designed for groups of up to 6 guests, you’ll begin your tasting in our cellar door where your dedicated host will share some of our unique history before escorting you to the private tasting room.
Once settled, you’ll be guided through an in-depth tasting of our portfolio, including our most exclusive limited-production subregional Pinot Noirs.
Advanced bookings are required. Please allow approximately 45 mins for this experience.
Reserved for groups of 4 – 12 guests.
Led by your dedicated host, you’ll begin your tasting in our historic cellar door before embarking on a tour of our estate to uncover more about our site’s unique history. Your guided journey continues in the underground cellar, with an intimate seated wine tasting of our full portfolio.
You can also add a shared platter or lunch to be served after your tasting.

Enjoy a leisurely afternoon in our laid-back garden, complete with a play area for the children, and a pétanque court.
It’s the perfect spot to settle in and savour culinary delights from “Fritzy,” our cherished food trailer, and sip a glass of wine.
Crafting dishes exclusively from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, we offer a delectable range of specialty sandwiches, artisanal pizzas, enticing platters & snacks.
Reservations for Fritzy are not required, however, we do suggest calling ahead for large groups, especially on weekends.
