Covering 2,000 hectares and home to around 140 wineries, the Central Otago wine region began its journey at Monte Christo. Féraud’s original winery has been meticulously restored, standing as a rare testament to New Zealand’s 19th-century agricultural history.
Today this heritage building serves as our cellar door, where our guests are invited to taste Monte Christo wines in wonderfully authentic, historical surroundings.

You’ll begin your tasting in our cellar door where your dedicated host will share some of our unique history before escorting you to the private tasting room.
Once settled, you’ll be guided through an in-depth tasting of our portfolio, including our most exclusive limited-production subregional Pinot Noirs.

Led by your dedicated host, you’ll begin your private tasting in our historic cellar door before embarking on a short walking tour to uncover more about our site’s unique history.
Your guided journey continues in the intimate underground cellar with an educational wine tasting of our full range, including our limited-production subregional Pinot Noirs.
Add-on a delicious charcuterie platter to be shared by your group in the underground cellar after your tasting.

Starting in our historic cellar door, you’ll learn about the history of our estate before walking to the winery for a guided educational tour. Go behind-the-scenes to gain insights into the process of winemaking from grape to bottle, and how our sustainable, minimal-intervention methods shape every vintage.
The tour concludes back at the cellar door with a guided wine tasting showcasing some of Central Otago’s most celebrated wine styles.

Your experience begins in our cellar door, where you’ll be introduced to the history of the estate before embarking on a guided educational winery tour. Learn about the full winemaking journey – from grape to bottle – as you explore the production facility and our sustainable, low intervention approach to winemaking.
The journey ends in our underground cellar, a distinctive space built into the hillside, where you’ll enjoy a seated tasting of our full wine range, including award-winning limited-production subregional Pinot Noirs. A charcuterie and cheese platter to share is included.

Walk-ins are welcome to enjoy food from Fritzy, our bar area, and relaxed outdoor garden seating, based on availability.
Enjoy shareable small plates, pizzas, platters, and seasonal snacks – perfect with a glass of Monte Christo Winery wine while the kids play and the pétanque court is in action.
During the busier summer season, we recommend booking in advance to ensure we can accommodate your group.
